Automatic vs. Manual Wiping: What Should You Compare?

Compare cleaning consistency, surface protection, consumables, changeovers and acceptable-part output, not just actions per hour.

Compare automatic and manual wiping using the same product and acceptance criteria. Actual process testing must establish value; replacing manual work alone is not enough to infer results or payback.

Compare five areas

  1. Cleaning results: inspect residual contamination and acceptable-part yield using the same method.
  2. Surface protection: confirm appearance and downstream requirements after wiping.
  3. Production cycle: include handling, tray changes and waiting, not just wiping time.
  4. Consumables and maintenance: record replacement frequency, operating convenience and maintenance time.
  5. Changeovers: establish what needs adjustment for different specifications.

When should samples be tested first?

Coatings, curved surfaces, flexible materials and strict surface requirements require sample assessment. Provide acceptable samples and decision boundaries so both parties share the same definition of clean.

How should investment be compared?

Record labor time, acceptable output, consumables and downtime for the same production task before discussing configuration. Without these data, a fixed saving or payback period should not be promised.

HULK ROBOT offers automated wiping and process assessment for precision cleaning and pre-film preparation. Confirm the solution through product-specific tests.
